μεθυσμένο φαν των No Age..
What's going on in LA right now..
Fucking like everything bro..The new shit, SFVacid, thats good. Bleached is good. A lot of good stuff.
Is The Smell still in the scene?
Its good man, the smell is good. Its a good place, its all there. We played there about six months ago, it was great.
How did that show in Wembley came out?
It was funny. We just showed up and people were like "what the fuck". That was funny, we liked doing that. We also played with Cold War Kids and we did a noise set, we just played noise and they were bummed man. People were throwing shit at us, but it was cool.
What's your favourite place to tour?
Europe is good, London is cool. I like Eastern europe. I like the Balcans baby.
- Yeah, we are the children of the war and the crisis..
I keep saying for you guys in Greece, its important to tell the politicians to " fuck off " . The fucking politicians need to pay, not the fucking people. You dont need to play in their system. Their system is fucked up. You need to make your own system. That's also what we 've got to do with DIY and our community where you do your own thing. The same thing is with the music industry, its fucked up. Who wants to be involved in that?!
Do you think that music the industry is better now than it was 10 years ago, when the internet didn't play such big part?
Its the same dude. The internet has made it easy but it's also made it lame. Everything its all about the internet and certain websites, categorizing everything and its not like that, you know.
Its like when Nirvana came out in the 90s, everyone wanted to sign bands that sounded like Nirvana and " look Nirvana this, Nirvana that". Now its the same with Lo-Fi, the same bullshit. Everyone is trying to make money off anyone else.
People see bands like us, we are DYI and they start out with that goal to be popular and thats bullshit, its not about that..
-To us you are a band that could make us start a band on our own..
Exactly, but for the right reasons. Not to be popular, not to make money but to make art and inspiring music.
Here is what it is.. Its like a circle, it happened in the 70s, 80s whatever.. Underground DYI culture is really nice and then mass media gets a hold of it and they make it a commodity and try to sell it back to us. Τhey are like "lets package this and sell it back to them". You used to go to a record store and see a kid with a punk shirt on and be like "You like this, i like that". Now its not like that, they 're trying to make everything mainstream. Its just different. You dont need any of that shit man. Its bullshit. Like i said, we are a punk rock band that does things progressive, trying to make things interesting and move forward.
-Yeah, in our opinion that's what people love about indie music, that is taking things forward. We think..
Yeah, you think but then a band releases a record that its different from any of the stuff they did before and people they go "oooh no.." That's wrong man. There's no rules man, people trying to put rules on you but its not like that.
- Sure, its like Klaxons when they had to re-record their album because their label didnt like it.
Right, thats lame..Its stupid.. You wouldnt tell an artist to remake his painting, or to a photographer "Do more photos.." . Its just stupid.
So anyway, good luck!
